About Dummy & Co Legal

Started by one solicitor who was tired of watching clients get talked over. Fourteen years later, still running on the same idea.

Our story

Dummy & Co Legal opened its doors in 2012 as a sole practice above a Fortitude Valley cafe, built on a simple frustration: too many clients walked out of legal appointments more confused than when they walked in.

Fourteen years on, we've grown to a team of six, moved to Ann Street, and taken on thousands of matters across family, property, business and personal injury law. What hasn't changed is the approach — plain language, honest advice about your odds and your options, and a solicitor who knows your name.

We turn away work that isn't a good fit rather than stringing clients along, and we tell you upfront what something is likely to cost.

What we hold ourselves to

Plain language, always

If we can't explain your situation without jargon, we haven't understood it well enough ourselves yet.

One point of contact

The solicitor you meet at the start is the one running your matter — not a rotating cast of associates.

Costs on the table upfront

Fixed fees where the matter allows it, and a clear estimate before anything else where it doesn't.
